Every single person on this planet has a story inside of them. A story which tells the world who we are, where we’re going and where we’ve been. The individual environment, that special place we call home, should be an intimate spot where we can surround ourselves with groupings of personal belongings, including art, furnishings, rugs and objects which form special and distinctive collections. These elements encourage onlookers, visitors and friends to peek inside our lives and our minds so that they might understand who we are.
In my opinion the concept of interior design and decoration is about using the imagination and expertise of the designer combined with the history and experience of the individual client to create a unique living and design experience. One which is not only special but is also the definition of who the client is and who they are becoming.
In terms of style I maintain that all styles are current if they carefully and accurately depict and represent the people who live in that space. Bohemian, Modern, Traditional, Transitional, Classic. Glamorous. It all works. It’s all timeless. It’s the execution of the thing that matters. Choose your personal epoch, determine who you are and where you want to go and together we can make it happen.
